Recently I noticed that a fence needed repair. I decided to get my drill, put in new screws, and solve the problem.

First of all I had to remove the old screws. Then I got some new screws – three-inch deck screws, perfect for the task. When I finished, no longer was there a gap in the fence. The fence was a lot more secure.

Psalm 62:1-7 say:

For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down—this leaning wall, this tottering fence? Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

David says there are those who are oppressing him, who are saying bad things about him, who are persecuting him, and who want him to topple like a broken fence. But he puts his trust in the living God. He knows that in God there is assurance, stabilility, and refuge. Much like repairing the fence so that it no longer shakes, we too can put our trust in God.

As we continue through the 40 Days of Prayer, may we grow closer to Jesus, knowing more of what it means to trust him, even in times of difficulty. God is our refuge. He holds us secure. Therefore, like David says in this psalm, may we continue to seek God and say, “My soul finds rest in God and my salvation comes from him.”

May you know him as your refuge. To God be the glory. Amen.

在這詩篇中大衛說有人壓迫他，說他壞話，控告他，希望他像破損的籬笆一般倒蹋。但神是他的避難所，他相信永生神，他知道在神裡有確據，有穩定和避難所。就像修理籬笆一樣，不再動搖，我們也可以相信神。

在我們繼續40天禱告生活時，願我們與耶穌更親近，更知道相信他是甚麼意思，甚至在困難時也是這樣。神是我們的避難所。他將我們牢牢地抓住。就如大衛在詩篇中所說的，我們繼續尋求神並且說” 我的心默默無聲、專等候　神．我的救恩是從他而來。”

願你知道他是你的避難所。榮耀歸與神。阿們。
