The Church is the people - those who know and love Jesus Christ. This means Trinity Baptist Church is NOT closed - it never has been. On Sundays, we gather for worship in-person in our church sanctuary and worship centre and we continue to live-stream our services so you can "visit" us online before you join us in person! Or if you prefer, just come on Sunday - we are delighted to welcome you.
So, what should you expect on Sundays? If you join us for a service the first thing you’ll likely notice is our incredible diversity. People of different ages, from around the globe, speaking different languages and coming from diverse backgrounds, gather each week to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Together, we seek to grow in our relationship with Christ and become better equipped to make a lasting, God-honoring difference in our world. Trinity is a church where God’s work is evident all over - you can check out the various links on this site to find out more. But what we’d really like is to meet you in person, and let you see for yourself! Whether you’re new to even the idea of Christian faith or have been walking with Jesus for a long time, there’s a home for you here.
As a church, we are connected to a larger group of churches called the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. Their statement of beliefs, which we share and affirm, can be found here.
Finally, if you’re a fan of history, we have a lot of it! Trinity Baptist has existed as a congregation since 1914, when a small group of Baptists began meeting in a home on Dunbar Street. The church met in several places over the first decades, including a church building that was transported by barge down the Fraser River from Coquitlam. In 1955, a building was constructed at 49th and Granville, which continues to be Trinity’s home to this day.
We look forward to seeing you. And please feel free to call or email to find out more or just to say "Hi".
